ITM 2028: The International Textile Machinery Exhibition in Istanbul

ITM 2028: The International Textile Machinery Exhibition in Istanbul

ITM Exhibition: The Global Stage for Textile Technologies and Machinery

The ITM Exhibition is one of the major international events in the field of textile machinery and technologies, held in Istanbul, Türkiye. The exhibition brings together a broad range of textile industry technologies in one venue, covering processes from fibre preparation and spinning to weaving, knitting, dyeing, printing, finishing, and automation.

Over the years, ITM has developed into a platform for introducing new machinery, observing equipment in practical operation, facilitating negotiations between manufacturers and buyers, and establishing business connections between textile companies and technology suppliers.

The significance of the exhibition extends beyond the Turkish market. Istanbul's strategic position at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East has made ITM a notable international event for textile machinery manufacturers, investors, technology suppliers, and industry professionals.

History of Textile Machinery Exhibitions in Türkiye

The foundations of textile machinery exhibitions in Türkiye date back to the 1980s. As the capacity and potential of the Turkish textile industry expanded, specialized exhibitions provided the industry with opportunities to become familiar with new technologies and demonstrated the capabilities of Turkish manufacturers to the international market.

During the 1990s, two organizations played important roles in the development of textile machinery exhibitions in Türkiye.
The first was TÜYAP, one of the leading organizations in the Turkish exhibition industry, with extensive experience, organizational capabilities, exhibition infrastructure, and an established international reputation.
Alongside TÜYAP, Teknik Fuarcılık A.Ş., with its specialized activities in textile publications and exhibitions, played an important communication role between the Turkish textile industry and the global market.
Building on the knowledge and experience it had accumulated over 30 years, Teknik Fuarcılık became a recognized name in industrial exhibitions during the 1990s and organized textile machinery exhibitions under various titles.
These events connected textile manufacturers with the latest technologies, creating opportunities for international cooperation and strengthening Teknik Fuarcılık's position among industrial exhibition organizers in Türkiye.
During the same period, TÜYAP also played an important role in the development of the industry by organizing textile machinery exhibitions. Its large exhibition spaces, suitable infrastructure, and international network of participants facilitated stronger connections between Turkish manufacturers and global markets.
As a result, Türkiye gradually became an important regional hub for textile machinery exhibitions.

The Formation of ITM: Cooperation Between TÜYAP and Teknik Fuarcılık

In 2003, TÜYAP and Teknik Fuarcılık A.Ş. brought together their expertise in exhibition organization and specialized textile industry knowledge under a single brand, ITM – International Textile Machinery Exhibition.
This cooperation marked a new chapter for the exhibition industry in Türkiye as well as for the international textile machinery market.
The ITM Exhibition is organized through the cooperation of Tüyap Tüm Fuarcılık Yapım A.Ş. and Teknik Fuarcılık A.Ş. Over the years, it has developed into one of the internationally recognized exhibitions for textile technologies.
The exhibition covers a broad range of textile manufacturing processes, from spinning and weaving to knitting machinery, dyeing, finishing, digital printing, and technologies related to textile production.
For this reason, ITM can be regarded as a platform where new technologies and solutions for the textile industry can be observed alongside one another.

 Why Is ITM Important for the Textile Industry?

For textile industry professionals, a machinery exhibition is not simply a place to view equipment. Technology comparison, machinery performance evaluation, discussions with manufacturers, familiarization with new solutions, and the assessment of potential business opportunities are also important aspects of such events.
At each edition of ITM, more than 1,000 manufacturers present their latest machinery and systems in operation. This enables professional visitors to examine equipment at close range and become familiar with technologies used in industrial production lines.
Different sectors of the textile industry are represented at ITM, providing an opportunity to examine a broad production technology chain within a single event.

Key areas represented at the exhibition include:
* Fibre preparation and spinning
* Weaving
* Knitting
* Dyeing
* Finishing
* Textile printing
* Digital printing
* Garment machinery
* Automation
* Control systems
* Digital technologies
* Laboratory and quality-control equipment
* Auxiliary machinery and equipment
* Spare parts

ITM: Showcasing New Textile Industry Technologies
One of the key features of ITM is the presentation of machinery and technologies used in the development and modernization of textile production lines.
Across different editions of the exhibition, technologies related to automation, artificial intelligence, digitalization, improved energy efficiency, and more environmentally compatible production have been introduced.
For manufacturers looking to modernize production lines or increase production capacity, exhibitions such as ITM provide an opportunity to establish direct contact with manufacturers and evaluate different technological solutions.
At the same time, machinery and technology suppliers can use the event to establish connections with manufacturers, investors, and textile industry professionals from different countries.

Istanbul: A Bridge Connecting Textile Markets
One of the important factors contributing to ITM's international position is the location of Istanbul.
Istanbul is situated at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East and therefore provides convenient access to a range of markets. This geographical position has helped ITM extend beyond the Turkish textile industry and attract a significant number of international exhibitors and visitors.
For investors and manufacturers, participation in Istanbul can provide an opportunity to establish direct connections with technology suppliers and companies active in different markets.
For this reason, ITM can be considered a significant international event for exploring textile machinery technologies.

 ITM Records in 2024
The development of the ITM Exhibition in recent years has been accompanied by an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors.

In 2024, ITM set a new record with 1,385 exhibitors from 71 countries and 66,200 visitors from 99 countries.
These figures demonstrate the international scale of the event and the participation of textile companies and professionals from a wide range of countries.

TM 2026: More Than 48,000 Professional Visitors

The 2026 edition of ITM was also held with broad international participation.
